Devers ISD has been so pleased with the programs presented by the PAWS 4 LOVE organization. They have introduced our children to the correct way to behave around dogs. The volunteers have also reached out to our children by having our students read to the dogs. It is a wonderful program that helps to elevate our children's self esteem. The R.E.A.D.® program utilizes registered therapy animals. These special animals volunteer with their owners as Pet Partner teams, offering children an irresistible opportunity to improve their reading in a setting which has proven not only effective, but fun. R.E.A.D.® teams serve in area elementary schools and libraries.
The HPHP R.E.A.D.® program is made possible by a Target Community Partner's Grant to HPHP. Target's support provides books and operating expenses.
Dransco, Inc. generously supports the program in Devers I.S.D. by providing funds to purchase books of special interest and replace the books chosen by R.E.A.D.® students after they have completed the required reading sessions.
