     The 5^th grade class at Devers Elementary participated in a poster contest sponsored by the Lower Trinity Soil and Water Conservation District.  The theme of the poster contest was “Soil to Spoon.”  Luke Evans placed 1^st, Ricardo Gallegos placed 2^nd, and Carter Haidusek placed 3^rd at the local level.  They were awarded gift cards for their winning entries. 

     Their posters moved on to the District level where Luke Evans placed 2^nd.  He received another gift card for his win at this level.  His poster has now been forwarded to Temple, Texas, where it is in the Area IV poster competition.  If he places at the area level, he and his family will be invited to an awards banquet.
